Home:

            The Siam School of High-Energy Physics aims at bringing together young scientists from East Asia with experts in the field of high-energy nuclear and particle physics. This year’s edition will focus on physics related to the upcoming Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) in Germany, and its two major experiments, CBM (Compressed Baryonic Matter) and PANDA (Antiproton Annihilation at Darmstadt). Four sets of lectures will cover the topics
            • Experimental aspects of CBM
            • Theoretical aspects of CBM
            • Experimental aspects of PANDA
            • Theoretical aspects of PANDA

            November 9: Arrival at Khanchanaburi
            November 10-14: Lectures
            November 15: Departure


Participation and support:

            We accept a limited number of 20 students with a clear interest in the physics related to FAIR. For application, please provide:
            • CV
            • Statement of interest (not exceeding one A4 page)
Combine your documents into one pdf file and send it via e-mail to herold@g.sut.ac.th, subject: "Application for FAIR school (your name)".
Successful applicants will receive free accommodation including breakfast and lunch, plus airfare up to a maximum amount of 6.000 THB.


Conference Venue:

            The school will be held at Felix River Kwai Resort Kanchanaburi.  Khanchanaburi is located 150 km west of Bangkok, known for the scenic Kwae river and the stunning Erawan national park with its multiple tiers of waterfalls.


Transportation:

            For the trip from BKK or DMK airport to Khanchanaburi, we will provide one free shuttle on November 9, departure time 3pm from BKK and 4.30pm from DMK.
