There are three areas of specialization in the graduate program:
 
1. Laser Technology
This first area concerns with research in science and technology enhanced by lasers, such as laser welding, laser for industrial applications.

2. Optical Information Processing
The specialization in optical information processing emphasizes on how to process and extract information from light where electrical process fails. This covers biometric recognition, digital holography, optical information processing, and optical metrology.

3. Biomedical Optics
The biomedical optics emphasizes on the development of optical instruments for biomedical applications focused on optical design and instrumentation of optical coherence tomography (OCT) systems and applications of such systems for medical diagnostics.
