1. Microorganism and culture medium: Lactobacillus lactis-11, a lactic acid producing

      strain, was grown on deMan Rogosa Sharpe (MRS) [21] medium.

2. Supports: The inorganic support materials are characterized in Table 1.

      The support materials were used after being washed with deionized water and sterilized by

      autoclaving for 25 min at 1 atm and 121 C.
