Descriptions : Herb Prostrate herb; stem with appressed hairs; stipules with pointed tip, inserted obliquely; petiole with appressed hairs; leaves alternate, pinnately compound, 3 leaflets; leaflets stipellate, obovate, apex truncate, mucronate, upper surface glabrous, lower surface with appressed hairs; inflorescence a terminal raceme, with 2 pedicels per node, both subtended by 1 bract, acuminate with long, bristle-like hairs; long patent hairs on peduncle; pedicel slender (more than 1 cm long in fruit), with short hairs; calyx connate basally, with 5 lobes; outside with bristles; corolla red; standard broadly elliptic, emarginate; wings 2, spathulate; keel petals 2; stamens diadelphous (9 + 1); ovary oblong in cross-section, with bristle-like hairs which continue on base of style; style with upper part glabrous; stigma small, button-like; fruit a pod, with 2-5 segments, each segment dehiscing along 1 margin; brownish hairs in bands along dried, brown pods; one seed per locule.
