truncate, upper surface with bristle-like hairs; lower surface with some bristle-like hairs on veins and along margin; flower solitary(?), axillary, sessile, subtended by 2 green, spathulate bracts; calyx green, connate basally, with 5 subulate lobes; corolla light violet, funnel shaped, hairy outside, with 5 lobes (right overlapping left in bud); stamens 4, didynamous, adnate to corolla tube, 2 lower filaments connected basally by a membrane; connective slightly produced apically; ovary hairy; style filiform, with hairs; stigma with one lobe a flattened lamella and the other obsolete; young fruit spathulate (round in cross section, with acute apex) with basiscopic hairs, loculicidally dehiscent to 2 valves; seeds with retinacula (4-6 per locule); young seeds green, flat, round.
