Descriptions : Grass , tufted, upright; leaves ±
glabrous, ligule membranous; blade tapering; inflorescence cylindrical, to a length greater than 2½ cm (longest 2.8 cm); width less than 3 mm; central axis with spikelets arising from all sides in raceme-like clusters of 1- several; spikelets between 1 and 1.5 mm long; glume 1 (G1) less than ½ length of spikelet, apex acute; glume 2 (G2) green, approximately equal in length to spikelet, with prominent veins; lemma 1 (L1) green, approximately equal in length to spikelet, with prominent veins, and with hairs on outer side; palea 1 (P1) ligulate, very small; first flower apparently lacking; lemma 2 (L2) and palea 2 (P2) white, shiny, hardened; second flower perfect; stamens 3; ovary with 2 plumose stigmas.
