Descriptions : Herb; stems with adventitious roots and multicellular hairs: leaves opposite, ±
ovate; apex acute, but rounded at tip; margins shallowly crenate and shallowly dentate with glands along margin; upper leaf surface very sparsely hairy; lower surface sparsely hairy on veins; upper leaves smaller, narrowly ovate, with margins shallowly crenate or dentate; inflorescence: heads solitary, terminal and in upper leaf axils, on erect peduncles; head with 5 involucral bracts; ray flowers 5, pistillate, each inside an involucral bract; pappus lacking; corolla tubular basally, expanding into a yellow, 3-lobed ray; ovary inferior, flattened dorsoventrally, 3-angled, with upward-pointing bristles along ridges; style with 2 stigmas; disk flowers perfect, each inside a conduplicate, keeled receptacular bract (pale); pappus lacking; corolla tubular, expanded above base, with (3) 4- 5 yellow lobes; stamens (3?) 4-5, apex pointed; base of anthers not sagittate; ovary inferior, flattened, with 2 ridges, with upward-pointed bristles along ridges; style with 2 yellow stigmas; receptacle cone-shaped; achenes approximately 1½ mm long.
