Descriptions : Subshrub; young stems elliptic in cross section; stems with very short hairs; leaves opposite, simple, shortly petiolate; petiole not noticeable articulate; blade elliptic or sometimes broadly elliptic or narrowly elliptic; apex rounded or obtuse or acute, with a small mucro; base rounded or sometimes acute; margin entire; blade up to length of 4 cm; leaf on both surfaces with very short bristle-like hairs; on either side of axillary bud a red and green, obtuse stipule-like structure; inflorescence a single flower or with one flower at anthesis plus 2 small flower buds, each subtended by a small ±
subulate bracteole, on pedicel; flower fragrant; calyx green, with 4-7 subulate, pointed lobes; lobes free for greater than half of calyx length; corolla white, salverform, with 6-9 lobes; tube to length of approximately 1.9 cm; lobes narrowly oblong-ovate, to approximately 1.6 cm long, tapering to a point (apex acute); stamens 2, adnate to inside of corolla tube, not exsert; filaments free, short; connective produced apically into short, curved appendage; ovary green, glabrouss; style short, filiform, easily breaking free from ovary; stigma flattened.
