Descriptions : Shrub Small shrub. side branches appearing to arise from axils of very small pointed leaves;
leaves opposite or alternate with small, pointed stipules; leaves elliptic or slightly obovate,
mucronulate, somewhat fleshy, with waxy feel to both leaf surfaces; 3 pistillate flowers in axis of
2 distalmost leaves of branch; up to 4 staminate flowers in lower leaf axils; pistillate flower:
pedicellate; 6 green overlapping tepals; no basal disc; ovary ? bell-shaped, apex slightly
depressed with 3 styles; style with 2 arms distally curving outwards and down (and sometimes a
little inward), stigmas extrorse; fruit ellipsoidal, apex depressed deeper than in flower such that
styles do not extend out of depress; 3 locules, each with elongate wedge-shaped seeds; staminate
flowers pedicellate; 6 green, valvate tepals that seem 2 layered with inner ridge; filaments
connate into column; 3 anthers with disc shaped, connate connective, anthers vertically
dehiscent, facing outwards.
